Volleyball - Live scores, fixtures, results and standings

Volleyball, also known as volleyball, is a ball sport played on a rectangular court. It can be seen in several variations such as beach volleyball, volleyball dekes or mixed volleyball. The aim of the game is to win 3 sets.

It is played on a rectangular court measuring 18x9 m, which is divided by a net exactly in the middle. The net is 1 metre high and can be found at a height of 2.43 metres for men and 2.24 metres for women.

There are 2 teams of 6 people in the game by default, 3 of which are always in front and 3 in the back of their half of the field. A leather round ball is used to play the game, which is thrown by one team to the other team's side, the other team bounces it back. Players try to prevent the ball from touching the ground in their half. They can use strikes to get it behind the net, but they must not catch or throw it.

If they manage to get the ball on the ground on the opponent's side or if the opponent makes a mistake in passing the ball over the net, the team scores a point. If one team scores 25 points and the other team scores at least 2 points less, it wins the set. However, if the 2 point lead condition is not met, the set continues until a team has gained that difference. The overall winner is then the team that wins 3 sets. If a fifth set is played, the first team to reach 15 points wins. However, it is still a requirement to have at least a 2 point lead.

Volleyball is spread all over the world. Among the most famous volleyball leagues are Italian SuperLega, Brazilian SuperLiga, Polish PlusLiga, Czech top competition is Extraliga. As in other sports, Champions League is also played. International competitions are also held in volleyball, such as Men's and Women's World Championships, Men's and Women's European Championship, and it can also be found in Olympic tournament.
