Kriket je timski sport koji se igra između dva tima od po 11 igrača. Cilj je postići što više poena tako što udarač udari loptu i trči između dvije stative. Tim koji brani pokušava eliminisati protivničke igrače na različite načine, kao što je pogoditi stativu loptom ili uhvatiti loptu nakon udarca.
Postoje tri glavna formata kriketa: test kriket, koji može trajati do 5 dana, međunarodni jednodnevni kriket (ODI), gdje svaki tim ima 50 overa (lopti), i Twenty20 (T20), koji je brzi format sa 20 overa za svaki tim. Kriket je poznat po strategiji, vještini i dinamici, posebno u bržim formatima poput T20, koji su veoma popularni.
Ovaj sport ima veliku bazu navijača, posebno u zemljama poput Indije, Australije i Engleske, i nije samo takmičenje, već i kulturni događaj. Utakmice privlače milione gledalaca, kako na stadionima, tako i na televizijskim ekranima.
