Крикетот е тимски спорт што се игра помеѓу два тима од по 11 играчи. Целта е да се постигнат што е можно повеќе поени (рани) така што удирачот ќе ја удри топката и ќе трча помеѓу два викети. Тимот што брани обидува да ги елиминира противничките играчи на различни начини, како што е погодување на викетот со топката или фаќање на удрената топка.

Постојат три главни формата на крикет: Тест крикет, кој може да трае до 5 дена, Едендневен меѓународен (ODI), каде што секој тим има 50 овери (топки), и Твенти20 (T20), кој е брз формат со 20 овери за секој тим. Крикетот е познат по својата стратегија, вештина и динамика, особено во побрзите формати како T20, кои се многу популарни.
